scanR sends your scanned whiteboards or documents as PDF files rather than JPEG pictures. We did this because PDF has strong cross-platform support and prints well with many different printers. However, you might want a JPEG picture at times. The PDF Image Extraction Wizard is a free tool for extracting JPEGs from PDF files. Download and try it.
[Update] You can now download JPEG pictures from scanR My Scans. If you use My Scans, which is optional, just click on the "Original" link to see the original photo and then click on the photo to download it.
Any options for Mac users?

It's not a one-click solution, but you can select and save an image out of a PDF using Preview on your Mac.
With the PDF open, select "File", then "Grab", then "Selection." You can select the area you want, and it is put in a Snapshot window. From there, you can save it as a variety of image types.
